I was born and completed primary schooling in India, before moving to Melbourne in the early 70s. I've lived in Ireland, the UK and country Victoria; for the last 20 years I've lived in Brunswick, an inner-north suburb of Melbourne, with my husband Alistair, with whom I have four adult offspring.
I've had many jobs in my life, and was trained as a nursing sister, but for the past ten years I've worked in administration and event management. I re-trained as a writer and editor in the late 90s and have had a lot of work in that field ever since.
The Melbourne Age has printed my articles well over 100 times, I currently have a monthly column with The Melbourne Anglican and have had three non-fiction collections published: Three Gates to Paradise in2006, The Whole Shebang in 2008 and Off the Page in 2017.
Most of my favourite pursuits are solitary ones: walking, reading, writing, contemplative prayer and playing the piano, but I also love spending time with family and friends, especially over food. I am an active member of the Uniting Church.
